The Financial Accountant role is to assist the Group Finance Manager with the necessary accounting-related tasks to ensure timeous and accurate financial reporting of the business units globally. This includes identifying solutions for problems relating to finance responsibilities, management accounting and information. Assisting with all processes related to management accounting and reporting.
The responsibilities for the Financial Accountant include but is not limited to:
Prepare monthly management reports. The provision of sound financial information and comprehensive reporting of business units to support business decision making processes;
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable providing support to the local financial clerks based in-country;
Calculation and management of accruals and prepayments for each of the group entities;
Maintenance of the general ledgers and preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and resolution of action items;
Review monthly service fee invoices and issue credit notes or adjustment invoices;
Perform month end closing on each of the entities;
Ensure tax accounts are up to date and compliant (with support from local service provider);
Prepare journal entries for adjustments as needed;
Fixed Assets Register maintenance, including review of depreciation calculations, impairment testing, disposals and reporting;
Assist with planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes;
Other ad hoc requirements as requested by the Group Financial Manager.
Requirements:
Final stages or Newly qualified CA
Experience with multi-currency reporting;
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
Advanced knowledge of Excel
Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 including Word and Teams;
Experience in QuickBooks Online preferable;
As this will be a remote position, the successful candidate must have solutions in place in their home environment to ensure their work is not affected by electricity, or any other, interruptions.
