Chief Financial Officer
A leading pan-African inspections and risk-management services firm, is looking for a well-experienced and knowledgable Chief Financial Officer based in Mauritius to lead its Group Finance, Risk and IT functions. The successful candidate will drive financial strategy, governance, and operational excellence across multiple African markets.
This executive role provides strategic leadership across finance, risk, treasury, investor relations, and technology, ensuring the business is supported by world-class systems, controls, and reporting structures. The CFO will guide financial decision-making, strengthen governance, and enable sustainable growth as the organisation continues to scale across the continent.
The successful candidate will lead and develop multi-country finance teams, partner closely with senior leadership, and play a key role in shaping group strategy, capital allocation, and performance measurement.
Key Focus Areas:
- Overseeing Group Finance operations, ensuring accurate reporting, IFRS compliance, and timely statutory submissions.
- Leading budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning processes to support business growth.
- Driving enterprise-wide risk management and supporting board committees with robust insights.
- Strengthening cash flow, treasury and working capital controls across all countries.
- Guiding the execution of Group IT and digital transformation initiatives.
- Building strong relationships with auditors, banks, tax authorities, investors, and strategic partners.
- Developing a high-performing finance team through coaching, capability building, and leadership.
Key Qualifications:
- Professional Accounting Certification such as CA(SA), ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CFA
- MBA is preferred
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in a senior finance leadership role
- Strong working knowledge of IFRS, group-level reporting, governance, and multi-country operations
- Experience in operationally intensive, multi-market African business
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct the full Group Finance, Reporting and Governance framework
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting cycles
- Oversee statutory reporting, audits, and compliance requirements
- Strengthen enterprise risk management and internal control structures
- Manage cash flow, treasury, banking relationships and capital planning
- Provide strategic insights for investments, projects, and commercial decisions
- Oversee IT strategy execution and support digital optimisation
- Represent the organisation to investors, financial institutions, and key stakeholders
- Lead and mentor regional financial controllers, accountants, treasury and risk teams
