Save job

An established, global technology and professional services organisation is seeking a Finance Manager: Financial Accounting to play a critical role in shaping a future-fit finance function. Operating in a complex, fast-paced environment, the organisation is embarking on a significant finance transformation journey, including a large-scale ERP migration and the redesign of its finance operating model

This role offers a rare opportunity to combine deep technical accounting expertise with strategic transformation leadership. You will be trusted with financial integrity, statutory compliance, and audit oversight, while simultaneously acting as a key driver of modernisation, automation, and value creation across the finance function.

This position is well suited to a technically strong, detail-driven finance leader who enjoys operational excellence, thrives in change environments, and is passionate about building capable, high-performing teams.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Own and deliver accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.

  • Prepare and review financial statements in line with IFRS and group accounting policies.

  • Ensure compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and tax requirements across relevant jurisdictions.

  • Manage the external audit process and serve as the primary point of contact for auditors.

Operational Finance Leadership

  • Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, and cash management functions.

  • Ensure effective operation of financial systems and optimal use of automation and digital tools.

  • Act as Finance Business Lead for the strategic ERP migration from Oracle to SAP Rise.

  • Lead the monthly forecasting process, ensuring accurate and timely submissions aligned to business performance and strategy.

  • Coordinate the annual budgeting process in collaboration with key stakeholders to deliver a robust, data-driven financial plan.

Financial Governance, Transformation & Continuous Improvement

  • Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, controls, and reporting efficiency.

  • Champion finance transformation initiatives aligned to ERP modernisation and global standardisation.

  • Lead the Finance Cost-to-Serve review, identifying opportunities to reshape the finance structure, capabilities, and service delivery model.

  • Assess and implement structural changes aligned with best-practice finance operating models—lean, tech-enabled, and business-integrated.

Business Partnering & Insights

  • Collaborate closely with FP&A, Commercial Finance, Procurement, and other business functions.

  • Provide financial input into operational decision-making and strategic planning.

  • Support stakeholders with ad hoc financial analysis, insights, and scenario modelling.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous development.

  • Assign and monitor work effectively while coaching team members for growth and progression.

  • Reshape the team to be fit for purpose—right-sized, right-skilled, and aligned to a digitising business.

  • Champion a mindset of agility, curiosity, and value creation across the finance function.

Key Requirements

  • Strong understanding of IFRS, financial controls, and corporate accounting.
  • Proven experience working with integrated ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle).

  • Advanced Excel and data analysis capability, with experience working on large datasets.

  • CA(SA) professional qualification (essential).

  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in a Financial Accounting leadership role.

  • Proven track record managing teams in a complex, fast-paced corporate environment.

  • Strong experience managing external audits, statutory filings, and regulatory compliance.

  • Exposure to finance transformation or organisational redesign initiatives (preferred).
