A well-known solar energy business is looking for a strong Chartered Accountant to join their team. The focus of the job will be financial Reporting, tax and accounting compliance, general finance compliance.
Job description:
Reporting:
Ensure timely and accurate reporting required by law and stakeholders
Tax and Accounting:
Responsible for the production of financial reports to management under IFRS;
Preparation of monthly management accounts;
Audit liaison;
Annual Financial Statement preparation;
Compliance with tax, legislative and statutory requirements;
Day to day project accounting, according to applicable international accounting rules/standards (IFRS), legal, contractual and other requirements;
Ultimate responsibility for the accurate and proper keeping of accounting records;
Verify supplier invoices with supporting documents and allocate to proper accounts;
Prepare and reconcile customer invoices against contractual agreements and other supporting documents;
Prepare monthly bank reconciliations, including liaising with bank regarding administration and maintenance of Bank accounts;
Prepare other monthly balance sheet account reconciliations;
Prepare cash flow forecasts;
Establish and administer appropriate procedures and computerised maintenance management processes as applicable to ensure production of valid, accurate and complete financial records;
Preparation of statutory returns (VAT; EMP; IT14) and liaising with SARS
Preparation of Regulatory returns including preparation of the year-end financial statements; and liaising with Auditors;
Organise in conjunction with the CFO the yearly financial audit and other audit engagements where applicable;
General:
To ensure compliance to internal control procedures in all company transactions related to but not limited to contract implementation, maintenance of books and records and accounting accurately for all transactions, i.e. o Assist in developing and documenting internal control procedures and accounting policies relevant to the project to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
Requirements:
CA (SA) with articles done at any one of the big four audit firms
5+ years
Strong technical IFRS understanding (IFRIC 12 experience a plus).
Excellent MS Excel skills.
Have knowledge and application of systems like Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Great plains); Enterprise Resource Planning applications (SAP or equivalent).

The successful candidate will be working alongside and managing a dynamic team of individuals within a fast-paced environment. Reporting to the Executive of Financial Planning and Analytics, your Financial Planning and Analysis role will focus on assuming collaborative responsibility for all FP&A functions for the Group.
It is also expected to collaborate in driving the improvement of FP&A processes with the Groups business intelligence developer. This role will not only benefit from interacting with individuals within the business to improve insights and create efficiency but also working with the Group Executive Committee to understand how they look at the business from a holistic level and what detail/insights they require to make informed strategic decisions to grow the Group.
