Senior Accountant

An exciting new opportunity for a Senior Accountant has just opened at a multinational FMCG organization. About the role: Our client is on a mission to bring joy and variety into people's lives through their passion for ice cream, innovation, and fun. They are seeking an energetic, hardworking, and motivated Senior Accountant to join their team in Casablanca, Morocco. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining the financial health and integrity of the operations in Morocco. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing supplier invoices, reconciling statements, handling advance payments, and maintaining the fixed asset register among other responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

• Validate and book all entries related to suppliers: Invoices, Credit memo, Debit memo etc.
• Coordinate with suppliers regarding billing & payments and reconcile statements of accounts.
• Prepare the payment voucher & follow the payment process approval hierarchy/DOA approval.
• Book all entries related to FA register & ensure the schedule of amortization update.
• Reconcile accounts receivable and revenue accounting records for all stores (cash sales, credit cards, Home Delivery).
• Prepare all the online bank payments & ensure the validation process according to the DOA: Local & international suppliers, payroll & tax.
• Assist in passing all monthly adjustment entries like prepaid, provisions etc. for the preparation of MIS.
• Arrange all source data extraction to the advisory firm for tax declaration: VAT, stamp duties.

Candidates Requirements:

• Masters/ Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Commercial and Account/Finance experience in Retail or Food & Beverage industry
• Experience of interacting with senior management.
• Ability to demonstrate team management skills.
• Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, project management, and presentation skills
• Knowledge of IFRS and Financial modeling.
• Relevant knowledge and experience on Moroccan tax customs and other legal Matters
