A rapidly expanding finance and technology business that specialises in providing personalised lending solutions within emerging markets is looking for a Chief Financial Officer to join their dynamic team in Cape Town.

As a leading member of the full finance function within this thriving, contemporary and tech-savvy company, the primary objective of this position will be to oversee financial reporting, regulatory compliance and financial controls, budgeting, financial planning & analysis and cash-flow management.

The CFO’s strategic expertise will shape capital and tax structures, steer debt and equity financing, and uphold corporate governance. Additionally, the CFO will play a pivotal role advising the CEO and Board of Directors on the business's strategic trajectory as well as corporate finance matters.

This position necessitates strong financial acumen, an entrepreneurial spirit, excellent analytical skills and a deep enthusiasm for African business endeavours.

Key qualifications and experience required for the Chief Financial Officer:

• CA (SA)
• 5+ years’ experience as a Chief Financial Officer
• Proven track record of IFRS knowledge and experience working with tax, transfer-pricing and treasury
• Cross-border experience on the continent advantageous
• Passionate about Africa business and a readiness to operate within the context of developing nations

Key duties of the Chief Financial Officer:

• Strategy, Leadership & Management: Motivating finance teams and ensuring operational excellence
• Process Improvement: Enhance finance workflows, systemise processes, and optimise accounting systems
• Business Development & Analysis: Evaluate expansions, new products, and financial performance using metrics. Lead corporate finance, advise on capital structures, and optimise tax strategies
• Financial Reporting & Control: Manage teams for reporting, cost control, and compliance, ensuring accurate financial statements and internal controls
• Financial Operations: Optimising payroll, journal entries, procurement, and cash management for all business entities
