A fintech company, striving towards elegance and simplicity in Africa, is seeking a Senior Group Accountant to join their growing operations enabling cross-border payments for mobile money networks, banks, money transfer operators, and large corporates.

In this newly created role as the Senior Group Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing consolidated financial reports and other necessary schedules required for our audit program. This role involves collaborating with accountants to improve month-end close efficiency while prioritizing data integrity, timeliness, and usefulness of reports. Additionally, leading the efforts in closing external audits while ensuring technical papers are properly prepared for the group's needs. This position offers an excellent scope for leadership opportunities as well as personal growth within the group, working alongside the Financial Controller.

Key qualifications of the Senior Group Accountant:

• Qualified CA(SA) with 5 years minimum PQE
• BCom finance degree
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Office Suite
• Xero Software experience advantageous

Key duties for the Senior Group Accountant include but are not limited to:

• Prepare and maintain monthly group consolidation and elimination entries
• Support preparation of consolidated financial statements under IFRS
• Accurately review subsidiary financials
• Aid completion of external audit for the entire group
• Contribute to the month-end close process by conducting analytical reviews
• Review and manage intercompany transactions
• Facilitate the development and implementation of finance policies that promote efficacy & robust controls
• Assist in accounting related to acquisitions and disposals within the organization
• Undertake additional ad-hoc projects as required
