A prominent global private equity investment firm, currently expanding its operations into South Africa, is actively seeking a Senior Manager with expertise in Expense Allocation to bolster its newly formed team. The core responsibility of this role will be to provide robust support to the Finance and Compliance departments by taking ownership of the Expense Allocation process from its inception to its completion. You will collaborate closely with the Finance, Compliance, and Legal teams, ensuring rigorous adherence to the expense allocation procedures in alignment with industry norms and regulatory mandates.

The ideal candidate for this role should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

• A minimum of 5 years of asset management experience with a specific focus on Expense Allocation within a Compliance or Finance-related capacity.
• Preferred qualifications include a BCom in Finance, CA(SA) certification, or an MBA.
• Prior experience in Project Management is highly desirable.
• Profound expertise in US Compliance regulations and a solid understanding of Alternative Fund structures.
• Demonstrated proficiency as an Expense Allocation champion, with the capability to effectively manage associated risks.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to

• Supervising the entire expense allocation lifecycle
• Collaborating closely with Legal, Compliance, Finance, Fund Accounting, and external partners to ensure precise expense allocation, payment processing, and reconciliation for our investments.
• Analyzing legal documents, maintaining the expense allocation matrix, and consistently applying compliance protocols and methodologies to document expenses for relevant vehicles.
• Owning the lifecycle of crucial expense allocation process updates and technological enhancements.
• Acting as the main point of contact for expense allocation between Finance and Compliance, fostering collaboration.
• Providing audit and regulatory support by addressing inquiries and supplying required documentation.
• Assisting with the reporting of expenses at the Fund level in accordance with Private Fund rule requirements.
• Ensuring the continuous maintenance of policies and procedures.
• Providing assistance with various ad-hoc projects and initiatives as needed.
