A well-established global investment manager is seeking a Business Development Manager based in Cape Town for a 6-month Fixed Term Contract (maternity cover). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business development and possess excellent relationship management skills.
As the Business Development Manager, you will manage and develop relationships with intermediary clients, specifically financial advisors, wealth managers, and LISPs. Your responsibilities include maintaining regular contact with clients, understanding their needs, providing exceptional service, and collaborating with the Head of Intermediary South Africa to identify and maximize business opportunities.
Key qualifications and experience required for the Business Development Manager:
Bachelor’s Degree or similar
Previous experience in business development or relationship management
Knowledge of investment products and industry trends
Familiarity with South African regulations related to offshore investment schemes
Willingness to travel within South Africa
Key duties of the Business Development Manager:
Manage and develop relationships with intermediary clients, such as financial advisors and wealth managers
Prepare meeting materials and deliver follow-up materials as required
Collaborate with the Head of Intermediary South Africa to identify and maximize business opportunities
Understand client requirements and provide a tailored service to meet their needs
Create business and account plans using the CRM system
Stay updated on industry developments, regulatory changes, and competitor landscape
Attend seminars, conferences, and roadshows to build a strong network
Support the design and execution of business development campaigns
Provide clients with knowledge of approved funds and market insights
Ensure compliance with onboarding requirements for new clients
Collaborate with colleagues across the business to build strong working relationships
Stay familiar with relevant South African regulations
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
