Arise Coverage Senior Manager(Export Development)

Our client is seeking an individual that will be responsible for leading business development and operations across Afreximbank’s Arise Industrial Parks, focusing on driving export transactions and market expansion. This includes developing and managing business plans, coordinating with internal functions, and facilitating financing for tenants.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop business plans and annual business development plans to guide the Bank’s operations across all Arise Industrial Parks.
  • Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and business development activities of Afreximbank’s implants across all Arise Industrial Parks.
  • Lead the origination and execution of export-related transactions within the Arise network of Industrial Parks
  • Lead the development, marketing and management of relevant products, initiatives and programs targeting Arise IP tenants with a view to driving export across all trade corridors, particularly China and India
  • Lead the production of business development plans, covering all aspects of financing in respect of Afreximbank’s export development objectives within Arise IPs.
  • Serve as the primary interface between Afreximbank’s Arise Implants and stakeholders in the credit value chain at Afreximbank HQ (i.e. Credit Assessment, Legal, Banking Operations etc.).
  • Lead the engagement with other relevant functions within the Bank (including trade information, SME Development, Trade Information, Advisory Services etc.) to facilitate the delivery of other financial and non-financial support to tenants within Arise IPs.
  • Lead the design and implementation of schemes and initiatives for market expansion with emphasis on matching IP tenants with buyers / off takers from Asia and other trade corridors (with Afreximbank providing financing for production).
  • Establish ties with market players including IP tenants, prospective buyers / off takers, other Banks and Financial Institutions, commodity boards and organizations etc.
  • Establishing ties with market participants including international banks, African financial institutions, (project finance intermediaries), project sponsors and developers, corporates and commodity boards and organizations.
  • Understand and adhere to the Bank's AML, Regulatory and Conduct Compliance policies and procedures, notably.
  • Report any suspicious or non-compliant activities or matters relating to the Bank’s staff or the customers to the Compliance Department.
  • Complete the Annual Compliance Training/Assessment.
  • Support implementation of Compliance strategy and safeguard the maintenance of effective control environment to promote a culture of compliance within Afreximbank.
  • Consider compliance risks in strategy, business planning and wider initiative implementation.
  • Identify and refer potential compliance risks relevant to business area to the Director of Compliance.

Requirements:

  • Post graduate degree in Business Administration, Banking or Finance from a recognized University or a professional qualification in Banking or International Trade Finance;
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including ability to organize and manage human resources to attain goals.
  • Sound experience of at least 10 years within a leading organization and familiarity with the major trade and export development finance products to be offered to IP tenants.
  • Solid understanding of Afreximbank’s product suite and ability to sell across all product areas including credit facilities, risk bearing facilities, structured trade finance, equity financing and project-related financing.
  • Proven experience in developing and marketing trade finance products.
  • Strong credit analysis, documentation, and relationship management skills
  • Ability to assess customer needs and develop relevant products that meet their requirements.
  • Ability to communicate and function in a culturally diverse setting.
  • The candidate must possess a deep knowledge of both Africa’s and Asia’s trade finance landscapes (particularly China and / or India)
  • Ability to engage senior officials of banks, corporates and governments and win their confidence.
