What you'll do:

As a Fund Accountant, you will play an integral role within the Fund Reporting team. Your day-to-day activities will involve overseeing investor reporting cycles -quarterly reviews as well as annual audits - by working closely with both administrators and auditors.

  • Oversee quarterly investor reporting by reviewing and approving reports prepared by fund administrators, ensuring accuracy and timeliness throughout the process.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with various Fund Administrators to maintain dependable relationships and ensure seamless information flow.
  • Supervise annual audited accounts by coordinating with administrators and auditors to guarantee timely completion and signing of financial statements.
  • Work closely with administrators and auditors to facilitate the accurate preparation and approval of audited financials within set deadlines.
  • Ensure fund administrator reporting meets high standards of precision and punctuality through regular monitoring and feedback.
  • Liaise regularly with investors to address queries promptly, providing considerate responses that foster trust and satisfaction.
  • Prepare, review, and approve capital calls and distributions while maintaining thorough records for compliance purposes.
  • Review fund expenses meticulously and instruct invoice payments in accordance with company policies.
  • Analyse investment performance by calculating returns and assessing hedge gains or losses related to investments.
  • Produce ad-hoc reports for internal teams and external stakeholders covering deployment, fund performance, investment performance, and other key metrics as required.
  • Collaborate frequently with Investor Relations, Investment Operations, Deal Team, Treasury Team, and other relevant departments to ensure cohesive operations.

What you bring:

  • To excel as a Fund Accountant in this esteemed organisation, your proven experience as a qualified CA(SA) will be invaluable.
  • Qualified CA(SA) 2025/2026 designation with SAICA membership is essential for this position.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required, particularly advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting tasks.
  • Capability to learn quickly in a fast-evolving environment is vital for adapting to new processes or systems.
  • Excellent communication skills are necessary for clear interactions with administrators, auditors, investors, and internal teams.
  • Outstanding attention to detail ensures accuracy in financial reporting and analysis at all times.
  • Strong organisational skills enable effective management of multiple responsibilities under tight deadlines.
  • Good time management abilities allow you to prioritise tasks efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team fosters collaboration across departments for successful outcomes.
