Investment Operations Manager

Our client is a leading provider of discretionary investment management services, offering a unique and distinctive proposition compared to competitors. They are seeking an Operations Manager who will be at the heart of their operations across South Africa, the United Kingdom, and Ireland. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with global investment, sales, software development, and support teams in a rapidly growing company.

What you'll do:

As an Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations across multiple locations. You will work closely with other members of the global investment, sales, software development, and support teams. Your primary responsibilities will include designing, implementing, and monitoring all business processes. You will also focus on continuous improvement of these processes using technology where required. Developing trusted relationships with investment platforms will be key to your role as well as liaising with representatives and managing the performance of management companies.

  • Designing, implementing and monitoring all business processes
  • Ensuring accurate implementation of investment mandates and client instructions
  • Reviewing monthly and quarterly fee reconciliations
  • Focusing on continuous improvement of processes using technology where required
  • Developing trusted relationships with investment platforms
  • Liaising with representatives and managing the performance of management companies
  • Managing and leveraging internal resources to ensure effective and efficient operations
  • Minimising risk and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation

What you bring:

The ideal Operations Manager will bring strong interpersonal skills and exceptional communication abilities to this role. She should have a knack for bringing structure to unstructured situations, coupled with outstanding organisational and prioritisation skills. Her ability to design and implement operational processes that leverage technology will be crucial in this role. She should also possess change management skills to implement process changes both internally and externally. Adaptability, excellent computer skills, and the capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are also essential.

  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • CA (SA) with post-qualification experience/CFA
  • Preference will be given to candidates coming from an investment management background
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to bring structure to unstructured situations
  • Outstanding organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Ability to design and implement operational processes that leverage technology
  • Change management skills to implement process changes internally and externally
  • Adaptability and capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent computer skills
