Our client based in Grand Baie, Mauritius is a leading global company specializes in importation and trade compliance, providing comprehensive door-to-door distribution services of IT equipment to over 200 international destinations. By leveraging a dedicated team, innovative technology, and a wide-reaching network, they offer world-class services and solutions globally.

The client is looking for strong Graduates who are eager to learn and grow, training will be given.

Role Overview:

Trade compliance involves managing the procedures by which goods are imported and exported, ensuring adherence to relevant laws, rules, regulations, and requirements of the involved countries. This encompasses various aspects of international trade such as classification, risk assessment, and tax management.

If you are eager to learn and grow, and be apart of an amazing team as a Tax Analyst, your duties will include:

  • Expertise in duties, taxes, levies, and product classification
  • Capturing duty and tax information from customs clearance documents
  • Critically reviewing system-predicted tax discrepancies, identifying core issues, and implementing corrective plans for classification and tax systems/databases
  • Updating country-specific tax structures and databases using automation tools (RPA)
  • Researching and identifying tax legislation changes proactively and translating these changes into systems/databases for accurate tax prediction

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Excellent high school results
  • University Degree in science, engineering, law or finance
  • 1+ Years working experience

Skill Set and Desired Competencies:

  • Excellent command of the English language
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Detail-oriented and proactive
  • Effective communication skills with team members
  • Ability to maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Capable of coordinating large, high-value projects and managing all elements successfully
  • Analytical, research-driven, and problem-solving abilities
