Our client is seeking a Plant Human Resources Business Partner Lead to join their team in South Africa. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the people agenda within a specific business unit and contribute to the creation and implementation of a people plan aligned with the business. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading change, coaching and developing others, and influencing with integrity. This role requires a high level of emotional intelligence, understanding of human behaviours/diversity and team dynamics, and courage to constructively challenge at the highest levels.

As a Plant Human Resources Business Partner Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the people strategy within your designated business unit. You will be instrumental in developing talent management agendas, supporting line managers in key HR processes, and fostering positive relationships across all levels of staff. Your empathetic approach will be crucial when dealing with sensitive employee situations or legal cases. Furthermore, you will work closely with leaders to enhance both current and future functional capabilities.   • Develop the People Plan and Talent Management agenda for the business unit.
  • Support Line Managers in delivery of key HR processes, such as succession planning or performance review.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers, employees and their representatives.
  • Contribute to difficult individual employee situations, legal cases, employee relations issues.
  • Shape the culture to align with company goals & initiatives through supporting & coaching Line managers in their implementation of core people processes.
  • Work with leaders to enhance current and future functional and leadership capability needs.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Plant Human Resources Business Partner Lead position brings a wealth of skills and experiences. You have a degree-level education or equivalent, coupled with experience in industrial and employee/labour relations. Your track record demonstrates success in leading, coaching, and developing high-performing teams. You are adept at influencing leaders effectively through your coaching skills. Your experience spans leading people and projects, and you have successfully contributed to the creation, implementation, and execution of people strategies for a business, function, or unit.

  • Degree level education or equivalent.
  • Experience of working in Industrial and employee/labour relations.
  • Success leading, coaching and developing people in a high performing team environment.
  • Effective influencing and coaching of leaders.
  • Leading people and projects experience.
  • Successful experience in contributing to the creation, implementation & execution of people strategies for a business, function or unit.
