About Afreximbank African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) is a Pan-African multilateral financial institution mandated to finance and promote intra-and extra-African trade.

Afreximbank has investment grade ratings assigned by GCR (international scale) (A), Moody’s (Baa1), Japan Credit Rating Agency (JCR) (A-) and Fitch (BBB). Afreximbank has evolved into a group entity comprising the Bank, its impact fund subsidiary called the Fund for Export Development Africa (FEDA), and its insurance management subsidiary, AfrexInsure, (together, “the Group”).

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Alignment Analysis & Reporting
- Assist the Head of HURE in periodically reviewing and updating the HURE management strategy so that it reflects evolving conditions and fits in the Bank’s wider strategic plan;
- Own the HURE planning and reporting, and the actions plans evolving from the E²VP operating model and the related Group HURE Charters;
- Assist in monitoring of relevant HURE metrics and assist the Head of HURE in forecasting & analysis of people related requirements across the Group, and operating the Staff productivity Model in this regard;
- Prepare the HR Monthly Report to President
- Working with the Tier 2 champions, coordinate the Tier 2 monthly assessment reporting process to ensure that it is done on time and with no errors
- Work with the Head of HROPS to ensure timely reporting for all risk related reports including the Ops Risk register.
- Work with the D-HR OPS to ensure timely resolution of all open periodic audit issues.
- Prepare the Pension Scheme annual working plan in conjunction with the Fund Manager and Fund Administrator to ensure alignment with the relevant strategic direction of the Group.
HURE Performance Management
- Own the HURE performance management process at Tier 1.75 and Tier 3 level. This involves ensuring the alignment of all Tier 3 scorecards with the Tier 1.75 scorecard using the scorecard alignment framework and, regular monitoring and reporting on the actual outcome of the specified targets by individual staff for the benefit of DHURE.
- Coordinate the HURE annual departmental strategy and operational planning process.
- Assist MD-HURE in the preparation of the annual Tier 1.75 HURE scorecard.
- Prepare a plan of action for the effective implementation of the Strategic initiatives of the HURE department and monitor the relevant timelines and milestones to ensure effective implementation ;
- Analyse the performance of the department and suggest appropriate recommendations for improvement of service delivery
HURE Business Improvement Processes
- In conjunction with the Enterprise Architecture team, support the design and documentation of all key HURE key processes.
- Streamline HURE relevant processes to ensure efficiency, consistency and optimal performance.
- Oversee the development and management of relevant SOPs for all HURE functions
- Oversee the appropriate design and implementation of all HURE linked Service Level Agreements with all key internal and external stakeholders as well as the team Service Level Statement implementation.
- Assist MD-HURE in tracking and managing critical departmental deliverables.
HURE Document Management
- Manage the HURE document management and workflow process, including the efficient management of all EDRMS related processes. Document management in this case includes working with the HR Support team and all other functional team to ensure the appropriate and proper filing of all HR related documents for ease of access and in line with the relevant policies under the Bank’s Records Management Policies and Procedures.
- In coordination with the department of Research and International Cooperation (RICO), ensure the finalization of the ongoing implementation of the Doxis electronic records management system.
HURE Budget & Cost Management
- Develop and manage the HURE function annual budget in liaison with FINA.
- Arrange for monthly budget variance reports for the benefit of all HR team leaders and DHURE to ensure that cost overruns are avoided.
Afreximbank Staff Retirement Benefits Scheme
- Support the Secretariat of the Scheme (Head of HROPS) in managing the affairs of the retirement benefits scheme including regular reporting, minutes of the Board of Trustees Meetings and member communications.
- Support the New Retirement Scheme Implementation project team in reviewing proposed Fund documents and coordinating with service providers in the implementation process.
- Following up on key actions as required as well as providing support to the Board of Trustees, Corporate Trustees, Fund administrator and Fund Manager as may be required.
Any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of HURE
