General Counsel

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal counsel on corporate matters including compliance, intellectual property, commercial transactions, M&A, and employment law.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate high-value commercial agreements.
  • Oversee corporate governance processes, board meetings, statutory filings, and policy development.
  • Manage litigation and disputes, including coordination with external counsel.
  • Monitor and interpret legal and regulatory developments relevant to the biotechnology sector.
  • Develop and implement compliance programmes and conduct internal investigations.
  • Support cross-functional teams with regulatory, contractual, and legal risk management.
  • Deliver internal legal training on key issues such as data privacy, anti-bribery, and workplace ethics.
  • Build and maintain relationships with regulators, external counsel, and industry bodies.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualified lawyer with 10-15 years' PQE.
  • Extensive experience in corporate law, preferably in the biotechnology or life sciences sector.
  • Strong background in regulatory compliance, intellectual property, contract negotiation, M&A, and dispute resolution.
  • Proven track record in managing legal risk and overseeing governance structures.
  • In-depth knowledge of Moroccan law and familiarity with international legal standards and cross-border transactions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead compliance initiatives and internal investigations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Collaborative leadership approach and commitment to ethical business practices.
