They aim to optimise businesses' VAT processes and ensure they are maximising refunds and adhering to complex international tax regulations.

About:

Our client is seeking a meticulous and dedicated Compliance Associate to join their Group Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) Team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide crucial support to the Head of Group Compliance, ensuring the smooth operation of the company's compliance functions. The successful candidate will be based full-time in Mauritius, working within a dynamic team that oversees multiple business units providing services worldwide. This role is perfect for someone with a keen eye for detail, excellent organisational skills, and a strong commitment to ethical practices.

What you'll do:

As a Compliance Associate, your primary role will be to provide comprehensive support to the Head of Group Compliance. You will play a pivotal part in identifying and implementing relevant intercompany agreements, conducting regular reviews of operating companies, and assisting with transfer pricing files. Your responsibilities will also extend to providing administrative support for executing annual board work plans and monitoring corporate governance across the group. Additionally, you will ensure timely filings for group entities and assist with various group-related projects.

  • Provide support to the Head of Group Compliance by identifying relevant intercompany agreements
  • Perform regular reviews of operating companies to ensure all ICA’s are relevant and identify any gaps
  • Assist with rolling forward transfer pricing files for review
  • Assist with the preparation of transfer pricing forms for review
  • Provide administrative support to ensure the execution of the annual board work plan for each committee
  • Assist in monitoring corporate governance across the group
  • Ensure certain filings are made for group entities including account filings, confirmation statement filings, tax filings etc.
  • Assist with group related projects

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Compliance Associate role is someone who brings a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and good judgement. Your ability to ask insightful questions will be key in this role. You should have strong interpersonal skills, contributing positively as part of a team while also demonstrating a solid work ethic. An ethical and principled approach to your work is essential, along with a learning mindset that respects others' ideas. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word) is required, while familiarity with Compliance and document management software databases would be advantageous.
