1. Bachelor of Law from a reputable university 2. Minimum of 6 years post call experience acquired from a well-established law firm serving international corporate clients or acquired from a reputable private company.

Principal Accountabilities
- 1. Overall responsibility for all legal matters for 4 companies based in: Burkina, Tchad, Niger, Mali.
2. Provide expert legal advice to these companies’ management on all areas of the companies’ business.3. Identify proactive solutions that will eliminate or mitigate legal risks.4. Draft, review, negotiate and manage a wide range of agreements, including but not limited to commercial agreements (retail, distribution, supply, aviation and industry sales, procurement services, etc…) lands acquisition and lease contracts, amicable protocols, various partnership and JV agreements and innominate contracts.5. Ensure that all contracts reflect management's intent; contain adequate protection of the Companies’ interests as identified by law and approved by management.6. Ensure companies’ compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.7. Develop, draft and/or review internal policies and other legal documents to ensure the Companies’ full legal rights8. Communicate in a timely manner with the Group Legal Coordinators on matters coming to Group management for review and endorsement.9. Report information timely and accurately to the Group Legal Coordinators in a predetermined periodic manner or as required from time to time.10. Organizing periodic meetings with and managing local outside counsel.11. Initiate and if necessary, pursue legal proceedings as required by the Companies.12. Prepare writs, defences, submissions and other pleadings in cases both for and against the Companies.13. Review, advise and follow-up matters including ongoing legal cases, directed to external counsels and advice the Companies’ management and/or Group accordingly.14. Ensure perfect filing and safe keeping of Companies’ corporate data and other key documents (titles deeds, lease contracts, licensing, registers, etc.).15. Deal with external parties, including but not limited to external counsel, auditors, partners, suppliers, clients and public authorities.16. Keep "up to date" of legislative changes that may affect the Companies.17. Provide training to the Company management and staff on implemented policies and fundamental legal topics.18. Monitor judgment notifications, summons, receipt of notice, assignments, demands.19. Carry out company secretarial duties including prepare, in compliance with regulatory, legal and internal requirements, all required documents to the governing bodies for the Board and Shareholders’ meetings or otherwise and have them endorsed by the appropriate corporate support functions in the Group.20. Perform and complete legal formalities including but not limited to minutes of meetings, publication, updating the trade register etc.21. Verifying of legal-related invoices.22. Attend and/or represent the Companies at any external meeting where required.
