Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site General Manager to oversee all daily operations of their plant in Durban. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop processes that increase productivity, enhance performance, and ensure adherence to all applicable regulations and standards. The successful candidate will have the chance to establish plant policies and procedures, manage the operation and maintenance of plant equipment, and work closely with upper management to set and achieve company-wide goals. * Opportunity to lead daily operations at a high-volume manufacturing plant * Chance to implement cost control programs and reduce production costs * Role involves working closely with upper management to set and achieve company-wide goals * Must come from a chemical manufacturing background

What you'll do:

As a Site Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all daily operations of the plant from production to manufacturing. You will develop processes that increase productivity and enhance performance while ensuring adherence to all applicable regulations and standards. Your role will involve establishing plant policies and procedures, reviewing and analyzing production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports. You will coordinate plant activities through planning with departmental managers to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Site Manager position brings a degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field along with 10+ years of experience in plant operations or manufacturing management. They have a proven track record of successful plant management in a high-volume manufacturing environment preferably in Chrome/ manganese processing. They possess a strong understanding of regulatory requirements for operating plants as well as experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies. Exceptional leadership and team-building skills are essential for this role.

  • Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in plant operations or manufacturing management
