The Community Development Lead will lead the implementation of the Community Conservation Strategy to achieve conservation objectives within a national park in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Goma.
The Community Development Lead will be responsible for overseeing all community- related project plans and the implementation thereof.
Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management:
Oversee an inclusive and diverse community conservation team and provide capacity building and mentoring to team members as required
Adaptive problem-solving for members to reflect and design effective field interventions that deliver biodiversity outcomes
Maintain strong collaborative working relationships with the Program Manager, Park Director, and Deputy Park Director
Provide substantive inputs to regular donor progress reports
Project Planning and Implementation
Develop a revised community conservation strategy
Oversee all community conservation activities, strengthen community institutions and build a strong constituency of community support for conservation initiatives.
Ensure a rights-based community approach to conservation, including adherence to Free, Prior, Informed Consent principles
External Relationships
Liaise and maintain productive relationships with partners on community development activities to harmonise approaches, avoid duplication of effort ensure these are linked to biodiversity outcomes

About the role:
The Site Manager is responsible for delegated mandate to ensure day-to-day coordination and oversight of all aspects of Park management including but not limited to wildlife protection, community engagement, bio-monitoring and research, tourism operations and development, communications, and capacity building of the staff.
