About the role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating with management to understand the needs and objectives of the project, preparing budgets and timelines based on management objectives, and identifying consultants and contractors for the project. The Assistant Project Manager will also be responsible for communicating and coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure the execution of the project as per management needs and objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Coordinate with management to understand the needs and objectives of the project, and document them for official sign-off.
Prepare budgets based on management objectives, provide periodic comparisons of budget vs actuals, make periodic revisions in budgets as per variation from initial objectives, and take sign-off from management.
Prepare timelines for execution of the project based on management objectives, provide periodic comparisons of estimation vs actuals, make periodic revisions in timelines as per variation from initial objectives, and take sign-off from management.
Communicate and coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure execution of the project as per management needs and objectives.
Identify consultants and contractors for whole or part of the project.
Submit periodical detailed and summarized reports to management on project status including non-urgent potential issues that are foreseen in the project, document the discussion outcomes, and communicate with management and relevant stakeholders.
Schedule and award contracts and subcontracts, purchase orders, and change orders as needed after official sign-off from management.
Identify potential urgent issues and communicate on an immediate basis to management to ensure timely decisions are made.
Ensure assigned projects are kept on schedule and within budget, proper document control and record keeping, and accuracy of project costing.
Requirements:
Minimum 5-8 years of experience providing support for upper-level management in a related organization
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as engineering or business administration.
At least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
Excellent communication skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to work independently.
