Poultry Factory Manager (Project Manager)

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Poultry Factory Manager to oversee the end-to-end operations of a poultry production facility, including its setup, commissioning, and ongoing management.

Key Responsibilities:

Factory Setup & Commissioning:

  • Lead the planning, design, and setup of the poultry factory, including equipment selection, installation, and commissioning.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure timely completion of construction and setup.
  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all aspects of factory operations.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental guidelines during the setup phase.
  • Recruit, train, and onboard key staff members required for factory operations.

Operations Management:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the poultry factory, including hatchery management, feed production, broiler/layer farming, processing, packaging, and distribution.
  • Monitor production schedules to meet quality standards and delivery timelines.
  • Implement effective inventory management systems for raw materials (e.g., feed ingredients) and finished products.
  • Optimize production processes to maximize yield while minimizing waste and costs.

Quality Assurance & Compliance:

  • Ensure adherence to biosecurity protocols to prevent disease outbreaks within the facility.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety throughout the production process.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., HACCP, ISO standards).
  • Address any non-compliance issues promptly and implement corrective actions.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Manage a multidisciplinary team across various departments (e.g., production, maintenance, quality control).
  • Provide training programs to enhance employee skills in poultry farming techniques and factory operations.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement among staff.

Financial & Strategic Planning:

  • Prepare budgets for factory setup and ongoing operations; monitor expenses to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop strategies to increase productivity, reduce costs, and improve profitability.
  • Liaise with senior management to align factory goals with overall business objectives.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

  • Oversee preventive maintenance schedules for machinery and equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Address technical issues promptly to avoid disruptions in production.
  • Ensure proper waste management systems are in place for by-products like manure or feathers.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, Food Technology, Engineering, or related fields.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of experience in poultry production or factory management roles.
  • Proven track record of setting up or commissioning poultry factories from scratch is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of poultry farming practices (broilers/layers), feed formulation processes, hatchery operations, and processing techniques.
  • Familiarity with biosecurity measures, food safety regulations (HACCP/ISO), and environmental compliance standards.
  • Proficiency in using ERP systems or other production management software is preferred.
