This role is based in the vibrant city of Boksburg, Johannesburg, South Africa. The successful candidate will be part of a multinational organisation with a presence in over 168 countries, known for its commitment to quality and innovation. This role offers the chance to work at the global manufacturing site, where you'll report directly to the Head of Operations. What you'll do:

As a Procurement Manager, your role will be pivotal in ensuring that all procurement activities are carried out efficiently and effectively. You will be responsible for procuring raw materials, packaging materials and factory consumables based on agreed procurement policies. Your ability to liaise with cross-functional departments will ensure excellent supplier relationships are maintained. You will manage the import of raw materials when necessary and monitor the timely delivery of all orders. Your role will also involve supporting quality control measures and assisting with stock control coordination.

  • Coordinate the procurement of all raw materials, country-specific packing materials, generic packing materials and production consumables for manufacture to order.
  • Maintain excellent supplier relationships by liaising with relevant cross-functional departments such as Formulations, Packaging Engineering, Operations & Quality.
  • Manage the full end-to-end import of raw materials where necessary.
  • Monitor the on-time delivery of all orders to support stock holding policies, production demand and just-in-time manufacture.
  • Support Quality in resolving identified non-conformances on suppliers & arrange replacement of rejected stock.
  • Assist with maintaining the integrity of stock control by coordinating with the warehouse monthly cycle counts, half and full year stock counts.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Procurement Manager position brings a wealth of experience from the FMCG/Manufacturing sector. With a degree in Accounting, Supply Chain Management or similar field, you have spent at least eight years honing your skills in this industry. Your strong business acumen coupled with your excellent problem-solving abilities make you an asset in any team environment. Your previous experience with import logistics will be invaluable in this role, as will your understanding and experience of FMCG demands.

  • A degree in Accounting, Supply Chain Management or similar is required.
  • At least 8 years’ experience in a FMCG/Manufacturing company is essential.
  • Good understanding and experience of FMCG demands is crucial.
  • Previous experience with import logistics is mandatory.
  • Strong business acumen is needed.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities are required.
