Our client is seeking a Senior Business Developer with a focus on Market Expansion. The successful candidate will be responsible for formulating and implementing market entry and expansion plans, primarily focusing on remittances. This position offers the chance to work with cross-functional teams, manage existing business relationships, and execute the launch of new territories and partnerships.

What you'll do:

As a Senior Business Developer - Market Expansion, your role will be pivotal in driving our client's growth strategy. You will be at the forefront of identifying new business opportunities, analysing market trends, developing innovative product strategies, and fostering strategic partnerships. Your expertise in market research will enable you to identify potential new territories for expansion and develop comprehensive business cases. You will also be responsible for executing go-to-market strategies that consider regulatory, cultural, and competitive landscapes. Your ability to build strong relationships with key decision-makers will be crucial in achieving sales targets.

  • Conduct comprehensive market research to identify potential new territories for expansion.
  • Develop comprehensive market expansion business cases outlining financial projections, risks, key demographics, and market trends.
  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for market entry, considering regulatory, cultural, and competitive landscapes.
  • Generate detailed competitor analysis reports highlighting strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in the target markets.
  • Lead collaborative efforts with cross-functional teams to conceptualise, design, and develop new financial products tailored to target markets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders.
  • Achieve and exceed sales targets through effective relationship management and business development strategies.
  • Ensure strict adherence to the Group Procurement Policy and Procurement Due Diligence processes.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Senior Business Developer - Market Expansion role brings a wealth of experience in business development or market development roles. You have a proven track record of developing business in African countries outside South Africa. Your strong experience in the financial industry gives you an excellent understanding of remittances. You possess expert knowledge of payments, remittances, software capabilities, contracts, and commercial agreements. Your excellent analytical abilities are matched by your strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

  • Proven experience in a similar Business Development or Market Development role.
  • Experience in developing business in African countries other than South Africa is desirable.
  • Strong experience in the Financial Industry and understanding of remittances.
  • Expert knowledge of payments and remittances.
  • Expert knowledge of software capabilities.
  • Expert knowledge of contracts and commercial agreements.
  • Excellent analytical abilities.
  • Strong communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills.
