Business Development Manager

A leading BPO firm based in Johannesburg is seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager to drive growth and expand their client base within the financial services sector.

This role is pivotal in the company’s growth strategy, focusing on identifying and securing new business opportunities, particularly within the BPO and direct marketing sectors. The Business Development Manager will act as the primary interface between the company and its clients, ensuring strong, long-term relationships are built and maintained.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic business initiatives aimed at maximizing market share and minimizing risk. You will lead the process from lead generation to closing contracts, presenting the firm to potential clients, and tailoring solutions to meet their needs. Success in this role will be measured by the growth of new business, the strength of client relationships, and the successful implementation of new campaigns.

Key qualifications for the Business Development Manager:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration or Management (Preferred)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Deep experience in Business Process Outsourcing and new business development
  • Proven track record in sales and marketing, particularly within BPO and financial services
  • Strong skills in direct marketing and database marketing
  • Experience managing relationships with key accounts at a senior level

Key duties for the Business Development Manager include but are not limited to:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within target markets.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with potential and existing clients.
  • Manage the entire business development process from lead generation to contract negotiation.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify potential risks and opportunities.
  • Prepare high-quality reports, proposals, and presentations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the successful implementation of new business initiatives.
