Product & Application Specialist (Medical Diagnostics)

A leading provider of high-quality medical diagnostic solutions is looking for well-versed Application and Product Specialist to join their team in Ghana, Accra. The individual will be responsible for promoting and supporting Life science products within an assigned territory. The objective is to provide efficient application support, product detailing, organize and conduct customer training's and customer engagement workshops, partner management and administration.

Product Detailing:

  • Lead/partake in product presentations to customers, prospects, and the sales team to promote and support life science products within an assigned territory.
  • Liaise with customers to understand their workflow and help them with optimization of their analysers, and provide relevant sales lead gathered to the sale team to support and enhance sales processes.
  • Act as primary field technical interface between the sales team and customer by leading products specification & application discussions and providing scientific explanations and clarifications on the clients Laboratory solutions to prospective customers.

Application Support:

  • Ensure customers’ receipt and implementation of all product/quality notifications from the clients Principals by working with the customer service department.
  • Provide efficient instrument applications configuration and timely and precise applications support to customers, including instrument troubleshooting, resolution of scientific-related problems, and providing updates on new methods & techniques.

Customer Engagement and Workshops:

  • Participate in or organize seminars and CMEs for concerned professional associations, research groups, hospitals and diagnostic facilities.
  • Plan and facilitate regular scientific workshops & webinars to enhance customers’ capacity building on quality laboratory practices and the use of the clients Diagnostic solutions.
  • Actively involve in every scientific engagement undertaken by the company, as the need arises.

Customer Training and Capacity Building:

  • Conduct adequate and standardized Instrument Operators’ Training to customers remotely, onsite and in the clients Biomedical Training School.
  • Provide capacity building and product information training to customer’s staff, including instrument and non-instrument users.
  • Organise, and plan for training activities in the clients Biomedical Training School

Partner Management and Collaboration:

  • Manage relationship with partners including business planning, supply chain, collaborative customer follow-ups, and organizing training for the sales team.
  • Develop and implement annual business plans in line with corporate strategy, goals, and objectives, and collaborate with partners to perform periodic business performance reviews.
  • Collaborate with partners and internal stakeholders such as supply chain and engineers to ensure the availability of quality products and that customer expectations are met.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science (B.MLS) or any Life Sciences.

  • 2+ years experience in medical laboratory practice and hands-on experience with medical instrument or 2+ years’ experience in the life science industry
