Our client an impact asset manager that specialises in investing in climate-aligned essential infrastructure projects, is currently seeking a Finance and Operations Manager to join their organisation to be based in South Africa or in Mauritius.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the finances of the organisation, supporting their investment activities in high impact climate-aligned essential infrastructure projects in Africa. Reporting directly to the Managing Partner and CEO, this role offers an opportunity to contribute to positive, sustainable change and potential growth into the CFO position.
Main Responsibilities:
Entity Accounting and Financial Management:
Manage day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
Oversee fund accounting and administration activities, ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standards.
Collaborate with the Fund's Administrator and external Auditor for the annual audit process.
Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Provide financial analysis and strategic advice to senior management.
Fund Accounting / Monitoring:
Review the key terms of the Limited Partnership Agreement and Side Letters, ensuring compliance with financial reporting terms.
Monitor the investment portfolio, focusing on expected cash flows in collaboration with the Investment Team.
Develop and maintain a Fund model to estimate the expected IRR of the Fund.
Manage the capital call and distribution process in collaboration with the Administrator.
Provide strategic advice on optimising the capital call and distribution process.
Other:
Assist the team with regular reporting and management information.

Experience:
University degree (Masters preferred) in a relevant field.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in fund accounting and management.
Strong knowledge of financial and accounting principles.
