A global luxury boutique hotel group is seeking a Finance Manager based in Cape Town to oversee South African projects from construction through to operations. This hands-on role demands strong leadership, expertise in tax and financial reporting, and strategic planning skills. It is ideal for a hospitality finance professional eager to drive financial performance within a fast-growing lifestyle brand.

Key Responsibilities

Construction Phase:

  • Manage full accounting lifecycle of the hotel development projects.

  • Implement Netsuite and internal financial controls.

  • Monitor construction budgets and ensure tax compliance.

  • Deliver accurate monthly financial reports and coordinate with auditors and consultants.

Operational Phase:

  • Oversee hotel finance operations, including compliance with local tax and statutory regulations.

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.

  • Manage payroll, AP/AR, supplier payments, and reconciliations.

  • Analyse KPIs and offer financial insights to support profitability.

  • Enhance financial systems (PMS, POS, procurement).

  • Lead and develop the finance team.

  • Support IT and systems integration initiatives.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting; SAICA/SAIPA/CIMA preferred.

  • Over 5 years of accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a comparable hotel or resort finance role.

  • Expertise in South African tax and hotel finance systems (e.g., Netsuite, Opera, Micros).

  • Strong Excel, analytical, and leadership skills.

  • High integrity, attention to detail, and a continuous improvement mindset.
