Property Credit Analyst

Our client is seeking a Property Credit Analyst to join their dynamic team in Johannesburg. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional with a minimum of 5 years of credit risk experience, ideally within the property finance sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for analysing credit data, estimating risk, and managing counter-party exposures within the property and international portfolio.

What you'll do:

As a Property Credit Analyst, you will play a crucial role in managing financial risks and optimising balance sheets. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include analysing credit data, maintaining customer databases, and ensuring compliance with the Credit Risk Strategy and Policy. You will also assist various Risk Departments with the implementation of new transactions and monitor limits and exposures in the portfolio. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of financial markets.

  • Analyse credit data to estimate degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money
  • Maintain databases of customers’ historical credit data
  • Perform comparative analysis amongst industry peers
  • Ensure compliance with the Credit Risk Strategy and Policy
  • Assist various Risk Departments with the implementation of new transactions
  • Monitor limits and exposures in the portfolio

The ideal candidate for this Property Credit Analyst position brings a wealth of experience in credit risk management, particularly within the property finance sector. You have proven your ability to analyse financial statements, quantify risks, and produce detailed reports. Your strong organisational skills enable you to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Furthermore, your knowledge of commercial law principles will be invaluable in assisting with the documentary process.

  • Minimum of 5 years of credit risk experience
  • Previous exposure to credit risk assessment and monitoring processes
  • Analytical and numerical skills: ability to analyse financial statements and quantify financial risks
  • Ability to produce written reports highlighting financial matters of importance
  • Experience of commercial law principles
  • Strong organising and planning abilities
