Key qualifications and experience required for the Sustainability Data Analyst

• A degree in Finance, Computer Science, Chemical/Electrical Engineering, Econometrics or another discipline with strong quantitative focus.
• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a similar analytical position where you have demonstrated your ability to work with complex datasets.
• Proficiency in Python for automation tasks including scripting and data analysis (Essential).
• Data modelling experience
• API integrations experience

Key duties for the Sustainability Data Analyst

• Analyse complex datasets related to energy consumption, water usage, and social metrics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement across the portfolio.
• Validate and interpret data from multiple internal and external sources to ensure accuracy and integrity throughout all reporting processes.
• Prepare detailed financial and operational analyses that support investment decisions and strategic business planning within the sustainability function.
• Produce clear reports, graphs, visualisations, and presentations that effectively communicate usage patterns and emerging trends to stakeholders.
• Maintain and enhance existing analytical models, dashboards, and reporting tools to improve operational efficiency and decision-making capabilities.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement by reducing manual tasks through automation using Python scripts and web scrapers.
• Uphold quality standards and governance of sustainability data across all systems and tools to ensure compliance with best practices.
• Support the preparation of annual Sustainability Reports, Integrated Annual Reports, and stakeholder presentations by providing insightful commentary and research recommendations.
• Liaise with internal teams as well as external consultants in preparing reports and responding to queries from other departments regarding sustainability initiatives.
• Assist with the implementation of renewable energy projects such as battery storage or water resilience solutions by monitoring performance and coordinating project documentation.

Key skills

• Advanced skills in MS Excel for modelling - NB
• MS Word, PowerPoint for creating compelling presentations; plus strong data visualisation capability are vital.
