Finance & Administration Manager

A growing agriculture trading and export business is seeking a hands-on Finance & Adminstration Manager to lead its finance function while overseeing HR and administration. The successful candidate will be responsible for strengthening financial controls, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, managing statutory compliance, and providing commercial financial insight to support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day finance operations, including procurement finance, cash management, reconciliations, reporting and compliance.
  • Oversee farmer and aggregator payment processes and daily cash/mobile money reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual management reports and support group/HQ reporting requirements.
  • Manage banking relationships, treasury and working capital.
  • Develop and maintain robust internal controls across field procurement and warehouse operations.
  • Conduct audits and monitor stock-to-financial reconciliations, losses and shrinkage.
  • Manage external audits, tax filings and statutory compliance, including PAYE, withholding tax and social security obligations.
  • Provide commercial finance support covering export costing, margins, FX exposure, procurement pricing, logistics and working capital.
  • Manage monthly payroll, statutory contributions and employee administration.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, employee exits and disciplinary processes in accordance with local labour legislation.
  • Act as the key HR liaison between local management and international headquarters.
  • Lead and develop the finance team and train operational staff on financial controls and procedures.
  • Build scalable finance systems and processes to support continued business growth.

Requirements

  • Chartered Accountant qualification (ICAG or equivalent), or final-stage candidate.
  • Minimum 5 years' progressive finance experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or sole-charge capacity.
  • Strong QuickBooks and advanced Excel skills, including formula-driven financial reporting.
  • Experience in agribusiness, commodity trading, FMCG or field-based operations is highly advantageous.
  • Good knowledge of Ghanaian tax, statutory and labour requirements.
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on, operational environment with regular travel to field and procurement locations.
  • Strong commercial acumen, leadership capability and ability to establish and improve financial systems and controls.
