A leading organisation in the building industry is seeking a Finance Manager to join their finance team based in Bellville, Cape Town. As Finance Manager you will play a pivotal role in guiding the finance team towards achieving organisational excellence. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve developing forward-thinking financial strategies that support business objectives while preparing detailed budgets and forecasts. You will be responsible for producing insightful management accounts that inform key decisions at the highest levels. By monitoring cash flow closely you will ensure operational stability while managing banking relationships to optimise cash management. Your expertise in risk management will be crucial as you establish internal controls that safeguard assets and guarantee compliance with evolving regulations. You will lead audit processes with precision—reviewing payrolls for accuracy—and oversee tax calculations as well as statutory submissions.   • Plan investment strategies and ensure timely payment of liabilities, maintaining effective engagement with banking partners and suppliers.
  • Establish robust internal controls and policies, identifying financial risks and implementing mitigation strategies while ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and tax requirements.
  • Lead external audit processes by coordinating activities, resolving queries promptly, reviewing payroll processing for accuracy, completeness, and compliance prior to payment execution.
  • Oversee calculation, reporting, and payment of taxes including PAYE, VAT, corporate tax; manage submission of statutory returns; liaise with tax authorities as needed.
  • Mentor finance staff by allocating responsibilities clearly, monitoring team performance, promoting professional development opportunities, and facilitating cross-departmental collaboration.
