A leading global credit investment firm is seeking a Fund Accountant to join their Cape Town team, where your expertise will directly contribute to shaping the future of the Fund Operations and Reporting team

What you'll do:

As a Fund Accountant, you will oversee investor reporting cycles and ensure accuracy in all deliverables. Key responsibilities include:

  • Review and approve quarterly reports prepared by fund administrators for accuracy and completeness
  • Maintain strong relationships with fund administrators to ensure timely delivery of reports
  • Coordinate with administrators and auditors to finalize annual financial statements within deadlines
  • Ensure fund administrator reporting is precise and provide feedback as needed
  • Respond promptly to investor queries, fostering trust through clear communication
  • Prepare, review, and approve documentation for capital calls and distributions in compliance with regulations
  • Review fund expenses and authorize invoice payments with attention to detail
  • Calculate investment performance, including hedge gains/losses, to support decision-making
  • Provide internal and external stakeholders with insights on fund deployment and performance
  • Work closely with Investor Relations, Investment Operations, Deal Team, and Treasury Team to ensure seamless coordination

What you bring:

  • Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) with SAICA membership is required, showcasing expertise in accounting standards (ideally obtained between 2025 or 2026)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, to efficiently handle complex data sets.
  • Quick learner who adapts easily within a team focused on continuous training.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with administrators, auditors, investors, and colleagues.
  • Attention to detail ensures accuracy in reporting, capital calls, distributions, expense reviews, and analysis.
  • Organised and able to manage time effectively to meet deadlines while handling multiple tasks.
  • Team player with a collaborative mindset, contributing insights for shared succ
