Junior Investment Administrator

A trusted leader in the financial services industry is seeking a Junior Investment Administrator to join their Centurion-based team, offering a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the investment operations space while contributing to the success of the business.

As the Junior Investment Administrator, you will support the Institutional Operations Administration team by handling administrative tasks such as processing transactions, maintaining records and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Qualifications and experience required for the Junior Investment Administrator:

  • A BCom Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or Investments
  • 1–3 years of experience in the asset management space, preferably within an operational role
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles
  • Understanding financial instruments like fixed income, hedge funds, private markets and bonds
  • Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, IF statements; macros)

Key duties of the Junior Investment Administrator:

  • Accurately process and settle various investment transactions, including trades, transfers, and payments.
  • Maintain and update records of all transactions and client accounts to ensure data integrity and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist in resolving client inquiries related to transactions and account management with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Prepare and distribute regular reports on transaction activities, account statuses, and other relevant metrics.
  • Administer direct properties, off-market investments (e.g., reinsurance agreements), listed derivatives, cash reconciliations, and scrip clearances.
  • Participate in change initiatives, projects, and system transitions by translating business requirements into workable processes and controls.
  • Collaborate effectively with peers and stakeholders to achieve shared goals.
  • Actively participate in change initiatives and project delivery within the organisation.
  • Continuously develop your expertise in professional, industry, and legislative knowledge areas.
