Director Recharges
We are partnering with a leading global asset management firm to appoint a Director of Recharges, a critical leadership role within the Finance function. This position offers the opportunity to own and evolve the firm's global recharge framework, driving strategic initiatives that support commercial growth, governance excellence, and operational efficiency across multiple funds, platforms, and jurisdictions.
As the recognised subject matter expert for recharges, you will collaborate with senior stakeholders across Finance, Legal, Compliance, Operations, and Technology to ensure recharge activities are scalable, compliant, and aligned to business objectives. You will also lead a high-performing team, champion process transformation, and drive automation initiatives that enhance the overall effectiveness of the finance organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Define and lead the global recharge strategy across all funds, platforms, and cost categories.
- Align recharge methodologies with commercial objectives, fund structures, and growth initiatives.
- Act as the senior escalation point for complex recharge matters and strategic decision-making.
Governance & Compliance
- Serve as the firm's expert on fund expense allocations and recharge frameworks.
- Interpret and apply Limited Partnership Agreements (LPAs) in partnership with Legal and Compliance teams.
- Establish and maintain robust governance, control, and approval frameworks to ensure regulatory and contractual compliance.
Process Innovation & Transformation
- Drive continuous improvement and automation across recharge processes.
- Partner with Finance Systems and Technology teams to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and transparency.
- Support new fund launches, restructures, and business changes by embedding recharge considerations from inception.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with senior leaders and cross-functional teams globally.
- Provide strategic insight and recommendations to executive leadership.
- Deliver high-quality reporting on recharge performance, transformation initiatives, risks, and opportunities.
People Leadership
- Lead, develop, and mentor a specialist team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Drive talent development and succession planning across the function.
Essential Requirements
- CA(SA) professional qualification.
- Significant post-qualification experience within asset management, private equity, or alternative investments.
- Strong expertise in fund expense allocations and Limited Partnership Agreements (LPAs).
- Proven experience designing and implementing finance processes within a global organisation.
- Demonstrated success leading automation and finance transformation initiatives.
- Strong executive-level communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Ability to navigate complex, multi-jurisdictional environments and competing priorities.
